Quality First Teaching is evident across the school

No inadequate teaching is found

Pupils always know next steps for learning

Challenge for all evident, to include more able learners

Planning reflects Big Picture, clear Learning Objectives, lessons focus on learning outcomes

Develop classrooms as learning environments

All staff understand good teaching criteria in Ofsted Framework & Teacher Standards

Purchase of new maths scheme allows for consistency in planning & coverage

Development of writing syllabus allows for more consistent approach, developing Talk for Writing & big Write approaches

Achievement for writing and maths in line with national averages

Monitoring shows that all children make at least expected progress from starting points

Clear action plans in place for maths & literacy

Key Actions

Review staff knowledge, skill, expertise & develop CPD to develop identified needs

Purchase maths scheme to ensure consistent planning and implementation – Inspire Maths, Numicon

Writing CPD & resources to develop consistency – Big Writing, Talk for Writing

Purchase synthetic phonics scheme – Read Write Inc

Improve number fluency

Close gaps in maths using Numicon as catch up, intervention resource
